원주시 도심기능의 쇠퇴원인

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recent studies dealing with urban issues from the perspective of urban ecology regard the inner city decline as natural phenomenon in the process of urbanization. But such studies tend to be easily overcome the reductionism to understand the phenomenon as a cause of results.
This paper aimed at analyzing the causes of the inner city decline through the case study of Wonju City. As a result of the analyze, it was found that the mediators, the characters, and the acts are different in the decline of the inner city. Therefore, in certain phases of urbanization, even if the multiple decline, rather than a specific function could be strengthened. And various characters acted in response to the mediators, but most functions of the inner city was declined by the mayor’s will. It is the attribution that the urban political society has been dominated by the growth coalition.
The result of this study suggests that the mediators need to manage in searching for approach to urban regeneration. But, advanced research will be needed to generalize.
