응용예술로서의 건축적 디자인과 상징성의 관계 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

건축은 인류의 기원과 함께 시작된 하나의 종합예술인 동시에 물질적 측면뿐만 아니라 역사와 사회, 사상과 종교 등 비물질적 측면을 포함한 시대 전반의 예술적, 기술적 지표이다. 건축을 포함하는 모든 디자인은 아름다움과 기능의 조화를 본질적인 목표로 일정한 관념을 실체화 하는 과정이다. 이는 곧 형식과 기능의 합일(uniting form and function)을 의미하지만 현대의 디자인은 그 자체가 완벽하게 기술될 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 상황에 따라서는 주관적인 해석을 요구하는 특징으로 인해 불명확한(ill-defined) 문제로 간주되기도 한다.
따라서 본 연구는 응용예술이라는 측면에서 패러다임 및 전이(轉移)의 개념을 통해 상징성 정의하고, 이를 바탕으로 시각적 단서(visual cue)와 장소성 및 지역성 등의 측면에서 패러다임 사례를 분석하여 체계화함으로써 상징성의 개념을 객관적으로 이해하고 이를 디자인 언어라는 관점에서 보편적, 논리적 해석이 가능하도록 방향을 제시해 주는데 목적이 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Architecture is characteristic of the age. It is a artistical-technological indicator that include not only material aspects but also immaterial aspects, such as history and society. The target of design is a harmony between beauty and usefulness. Design is a result from representation of visual language by designer's creative thinking system. Also, as an ill-defined problem cannot be described perfectly. and Depend on situation, require subjective analysis. The most important thing is not ‘the best’ but satisfaction. Architecture is a synthetic art for dwelling and settlement.
On this study, at the start, we establish the basic concept of 'Symbolism' as a Applied Arts, according to general understanding about paradigm and metaphorical, analogical transfer. then reasonably organize and analyze various architectural samples by the sense of place, regionalism and analogical visual cue. As a result, this study will signpost for the reader the universal and logical interpretation about symbolism from a design linguistic point of view.
