This study investigates the experiences of short-track speed skater in keeping training diaries. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with five adult athletes registered with the Korea Skating Union 2023 who have experience as national team members. The collected data were transcribed using HWP 2020 and analyzed in six stages based on Braun and Clarke’s(2006) thematic analysis technique. This study derived the following results. First, the entries in the training diaries of short-track speed skaters were categorized into four themes and eight codes. The themes were classified as “Training,” “Psychology,” “Strategy,” and “Environment.”Second, the experiences in keeping training diaries were categorized into five themes and 17 codes. The theme were classified as “Formation of Positive Emotions,” “Self-Monitoring,” “Performance Improvement,” “Induction of Negative Emotions,” and “Time of Diary Review.”No negative experiences that directly affected their training were observed, and numerous positive experiences were identified.
