민족어의 격 어미 및 부치사, 첨사 범주와 그 유형론적 함의 = A Study on Case-markers, Adpositions and Particles, and in Korean and their typological Implication

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is to investigate case-markers, adpositions and particles in the Korean Descriptive Grammar and clarify their typological implications. The writer interpreted the early Westerner's grammatical cognitions in terms of the generative grammar and the recent theory of grammaticalization, demonstrating the validity of the three grammatical categories in Sung-Nyong Lee(1966). Moreover, by establishing Adpositions, namely postpositions the writer tidied up the belonging of semi-particles which had been blurred in classification of word-class. When compared with Tungusic, Mongolian and Turkish showing genetic and structural affinities to Korean, Korean shares with them those characteristics that case endings are built in monosyllabic and take morphophonemic alternations according to the environment of preceding noun stems. Altaic Adpositions are similar to Korean in that their origins are nouns, verbs and adverbs. Korean has the richest particles among the Altaic languages; the interrogative particles of Middle Korean are shared with Tungusic and Mongolian. On the other hand, there are some differences that while Altaic case endings combine with each other, Korean shows the free combination of case endings and particles.
