조선조(朝鮮朝) 사회상(社會相)과 열녀전(烈女傳)의 창작의식(創作意識) = Social Aspect of the Joseon Dynasty and the Writing Sense of Yeolnyeojeon

국문 초록 (Abstract)

조선조 열녀전의 창작의식은 조선조 사회상의 흐름과 맞물려있다고 하겠다. 고려 말의 다양한 열녀전에서 기원한 조선 전기의 열녀전은 조선조 열녀전의 시원이라 할 수 있다. 『동문선』,『고려사』<列傳>의 <烈女>편 등의 영향을 받아 殉節 혹은수절 등의 형태로 節義를 지키면서 이는 기록으로 남게 되고여성의 정절을 일방적으로 강조한 열녀의 절행을 풍교의 일환으로 삼아 새로운 烈女像이 성립된다. 이후 임병양란을 거치면서 충효열 등의 유교덕목을 강조하고 가문과 선조의 유래와 유업 등을 칭송하는 풍조가 17세기 이후 더욱 높아졌다. 이어 문사들이 효열녀를 대거 입전하면서 문사들의 열녀전 창작의식은더욱 고양된다. 이러한 창작의식에 의해 열녀가 수적으로 늘어나는 한편, 사대부가에서 행하던 열절의 개념이 일반 천민에 까지 이어져 열녀전의 전성기로 이어지고 이는 열녀전 창작의식또한 전성기로서의 두드러짐을 보여준다. 17～18세기에 실학자들의 열녀에 대한 새로운 인식이 나타나기 시작하며 19세기 문사들은 열녀전을 통해 아직도 삼강과 오륜이 살아 있는 나라라는 것을 보여주려고 열행을 행한 여인들을 입전하여 사회적 의미로 확대하려 하였다. 그러나 당대 열행을 행한 여인이 드문 만큼 19세기 열녀전은 쇠퇴의 길로 이어져 이는 열녀전 창작의식 또한 쇠퇴기로 접어든다. 개화기열녀전은 서구 근대 사상의 영향으로 여성들에게 교육의 기회가 주어지는 등 이로 인해 신여성들의 열 개념은 개화기 이후급속도로 변모, 개화기를 거치면서 완전히 소멸되어 개화기 열녀전의 소멸과 창작의식과의 관계를 잘 보여주고 있다. 이 논고는 조선조의 사회상과 조선조 열녀전의 창작의식과의 연관성을 살펴 양자가 대체적으로 비례하고 있음을 천착하고자 시도한 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The writing sense of the Joseon dynasty`s yeolnyeojeon is interconnected with contemporary social aspect. The beginning of yeolneojeon is from the early Joseon dynasty`s Yeolnyeojeon, originated with different yeolnyeojeon in the late Goryeo. It remains as the document, keeping fidelity such as integrity or dying for chastity, was influenced by 『Dongmoonsun』, 『History of Goryeo 』, and also is formed new image of yeolnyeo as a part of moral education that forced fidelity to women. Through the war of Imbyeong, this trend heightened with admiring the left work by an ancestor and the family, and emphasizing moral principle of Confucianism after 17th century. Therefore, the writing sense of yeolneojeon exalted by these trends and writers. This explains that remarkably appeared in the peak of yeolneojeon, connected to idea of women fidelity in the noble`s family. This trends and idea spreaded to the humble. It expanded a new recognition of yeolnyeo to the realist in the between 17th and 18th century. In the 19th century,writers tried to prove living the three bonds and the five moral rules through the yeolneojeon. It regrards as a social mean they want to reveal. However, there were few women observing yeolneo for their fidelity in the 19th century, made to be ruined yeolneojeon and sense of wiring. Sense of women and writing sense have changed swiftly since the flowering time influenced by the west modernism. This study proportionally has revealed relations between extinction of yeoneojeon and writing sense also, Joseon dynasty`s social aspect and writing sense of yeolneojeon.
