Although typical geographic information systems provide much of the required information on the basis of attribute data, it is also possible in practice to extract rich spatial information from operations of spatial relations which can be defined on spatial entitles. In this pater, various spatial relations are classified into three different categories, that is, topological, set-theoretic, and metric relations. Each of the categorized relations has its own functionalities and applied to and implementation of Keimyung University's geographic information system in order to show its effectiveness.
