The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of trust in supervisor and organizational commitment on the relationship between transformational leadership and job satisfaction. To this end, an onsite survey was conducted for employees of major travel agencies in South Korea. The results of exploratory factor analysis show that three underlying dimensions of transformational leadership were delineated: charisma, individualized consideration, and intellectual stimulation. The results of regression analysis reveal that transformational leadership had significant effects on trust in supervisor, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. Trust in supervisor had significant effects on organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Organizational commitment also had a significant effect on job satisfaction. The analysis of mediation effects indicates that trust in supervisor and organizational commitment significantly mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and job satisfaction. Organizational commitment was also found to significantly mediate the relationship between trust in supervisor and job satisfaction. The findings of this study imply that the two factors of trust in supervisor and organizational commitment play significant mediating roles between transformational leadership and job satisfaction.
