      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper seeks to answer the question of the role and value of literature and literature education in the present age from the perspective of literary therapy. The literary therapy advocated by the Society of Korean Literary Therapy is based on the view that a human being is literature and literature is human being. The literature that literary therapy focuses on is not the surface text, but the story-in-depth within it. The basic principle of literary therapy is to activate the therapeutic interaction between the story-in-depth of text and the story-in-depth of self. In this interaction, humans are both the subject who perceives the work and the object who receives the story from the work. The mutually objective dialogue between humans and the work, based on narrative resonance, effectively expresses the value of literature for life and needs to be actively adopted and utilized in literature education. It can make a decisive contribution to fostering literary ability as the main goal of literature education.
In this study, I examined the homogeneous connection between literary therapy and literature education and introduced a specific case of literary therapeutic literature education. This is a case of literature education that seeks a new understanding of the story-in-depth of self through a series of literary self-reflection processes involving works and implements the results as a video storytelling project. I believe that the story-in-depth storytelling class based on literary therapy is an alternative literature class model that can be appropriately used in secondary and elementary education as well as in universities. I hope that literature education, which contributes to making the special literature called human beings healthier and more beautiful, will be activated in various forms in the school education field.
