문법과 독서의 통합성 = On the integration of grammar and reading in Korean Language education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine the integrative contents of teaching grammar and teaching reading. Teaching grammar should be a fundamental basis for every teaching. This is why teaching grammar should become a required subject. Futhermore, the category of teaching grammar should not subsume merely sentence-level phenomena of a sentence level, but also relations among paragraphs and the structures of a story as a whole. The reason is that a language has structures of its own which include coherences and cohesions. Teaching reading should also be founded upon grammar education. Human beings understand information through linguistic structures, and information processing requires teaching linguistic structures, which is closely related with teaching grammar. The 2009 revised curriculum in which `reading` and `grammar` are integrated into one subject is mistaken, for it disregards their inherent areas of the two subjects.
