Dewey views democracy from eight aspects; (1) a way of life (2) political from (3) scientific method (4) technology (5) socialism (6) individualism (7) liberalism (8) education. From these eight points of view, I find there is one concept which distinguishes democracy from all other forms of societal life ; name1y, democracy is a free and enriching communion among individuals.
Dewey points out that there are two criteria by whichwe can measure the worth of a society. One criterion is the extent to which the interests of the group are consciously shared by all of its members. The other is the fullnessand freedom with which the group interests with groups. From the stated conception of democracy come three coronaries: (1) Democracy is an ever changing process and it is not fixed and rigid as a form of society. (2) The foundation of democracy is faith in human intelligence (3) Democracy depends on an effective and accurate means of communication among individuals
