    This study, rooted on critical questioning of the domiant notions of survival-oriented lifelong learing, is an attempt to reconsider meaning of lifelong learning in the age of lifelong learning. This study, by critically analyzing the current debates regarding competition and survival-oriented lifelong learning, offers some framework to examine why survival-oriented lifelong learning is problematic and why it is important to make efforts to critically reconsider the meaning of lifelong learning in the age of lifelong learning. it is hoped that critical understanding about lifelong learning will help to recconstruct lifelong learning society, which contributes to developing more enriching, mutually flourishing, co-sustainable life and world.
