Confucianism has the dual nature of positive and negative. Confucianism is both a driving force for economic development and a major cause of the economic crisis. About 100 years ago, Confucianism was seen as a historical development, an obstacle, an undemocratic feudal ethic, but today it is drawing attention again.
This article analyzes "Confucianism in this era" to find out why Confucianism is attracting attention again and explores whether Confucianism can be established as the ideology we pursue in the 21st century. In order to effectively achieve this goal, this article analyzes the Confucian report published in domestic daily newspapers from 1996 to 2000.
In today's Korean society, there have been attempts to apply and interpret many phenomena and movements of society with Confucianism, and the theories of "East Asia theory", "Asian price", "Confucianism capitalism" and other foreign arguments introduced from Western Europe. This paper seeks to explore the current meaning of Confucianism in a wide range of fields.
