시대적 사고를 반영한 발터 벤야민의 예술론과 연극교육론

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 우선 1차 산업혁명 이후 급속도로 진행되었던 유럽의 개혁 시대에 발터 벤야민(Walter Benjamin, 1892-1940)이 밝힌 미학적 견해를 다룬다. 특히 새로운 생산적 기술문명과 사회 다방면에 팽배했던 급진적 사고에 의한 예술과 교육 분야의 개혁적 변화 요구에, 미래지향적 사고를 지니고 예술과 교육에 대한 시대적 정립을 했던 그의 예술론과 연극교육론에 대해서 그의 저서와 관련 논문들을 중심으로 살펴본다.
벤야민은 일찍이 사진과 영화를 중심으로 한 새로운 형태의 대중예술이 가져올 사회적 여파를 간파하였고, 또 대중예술에 진지하게 접근함으로써 미학의 영역을 일상의 영역까지 확대했다. 본 논문은 이처럼 기술혁명 시대와 이념적 갈등의 이데올로기 시대 속에서 예술과 교육에 관한 진보적 사고를 지녔던 발터 벤야민의 사례를 통해 새로운 기술의 진보적 발전은 미래 예술의 형태와 가치 그리고 범주를 계속 변화시키는 주요 원인이 되고, 이에 따른 교육적 차원에서의 새로운 예술교육의 방법 설정은 시대적 주요 과제임을 그의 연극론을 통해 밝힌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

First of all, this thesis handles Walter Benjamin(1892-1940)’s aesthetic viewpoint in the European reformation period that was rapidly progressed after the first industrial revolution. Especially, this thesis examines his art theory and theater education theory showing the established viewpoint of the times in relation to art and education based on the future-oriented thinking, facing the demand for reformative change in the field of art & education by new civilization of productive technology and overflowing radical thinking in many different fields of society, focusing on his books and relevant theses.
Benjamin early saw through the social aftereffect of new-formed popular art focusing on photograph and film, and also expanded the field of aesthetics to the field of everyday life by seriously approaching to popular art. Through the case of Walter Benjamin with progressive thoughts of art & education in the era of technical revolution and ideological conflict like this, this thesis reveals that the progressive development of new technology becomes a main cause for continuously changing the form, value, and category of future art, and establishing new methods of art education in the educational dimension is a main task of the times, through his theater theory.
