염의(殮衣)에 관한 비교 연구 = A Comparative Study on the Dressing Corps for Burial

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the Dressing Corps for Burial.
This study classifies the Dressing Corps for Burial by its kinds, size, shape, cloths and color and compared investigation of Dressing Corps for Burial in Korean through literatures with Dressing Corps for Burial in Chinese and considered the peculiarity of Dressing Corps for Burial in Korean through actual condition.
Dressing Corps for Burial in Korean through literatures are as follows.
The implement of Soryom(小殮) were Yok(褥), Ch′im(枕), Kum(衾), Kyo(絞), Sangeui(上衣) and Saneui(散衣), the same as Taeryom(大殮). The cloths of Soryom was nineteen Ch′ing(稱) and the cloths of Taeryom were thirty Ch′ing in Sa, fifty Ch′ing in Taebu and ninety Ch′ing in Kun. To show respect the Sangeui was never placed upside down.
Rympo represented by the cross in actual conditions of current Dressing Corps for Burial.
The cloths of Soryom was nineteen Ch′ing in the Dressing Corps for Burial in Korean and Chinese. The cloths of Taeryom in Kun were one hundred Ch′ing in the Chinese and ninety Ch′ing in the Korean. The implement of Soryom were Yok, Ch′im, Kum, Kyo, Sangeui and Saneui in the Chinese, the same as Korean. But In the case of the implement of Taeryom, Dressing Corps for Burial in Chinese were Kum, Kyo and Saneui.
