This thesis studies on the characteristics of Kim, Hak-Cheol' works which is linked with his life. He was a writer whose life was devoted to East-North Asian history and literature. He was committed to his mission as a writer and an intellect in Korea and China. In the time he settled in China, he experienced the gap between Marxism in theory and socialistic institutions in practice. He devoted his life to progress of humankind. His writings have own special individuality in satire and joke. His lives and literature reflect the crises of East-North Asia in the twentith century. His works are representitive of literature of korean residents abroad. He experienced a crisis of identity. His national liberation narrative have played a very important role to overcome it.
