Gestalt 심리학에서의 바탕과 도형에 관한 연구 = A study on the Ground & Figure in Gestalt psychology

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are two aspects-one is the intuitive and emotional, and the other is the logical and rational in intellectual activities of human-being. My ancestors who had adapted themselves to the law of nature got used to intuitive and emotional culture rather than rational culture. But the life style of western people is used to adjust nature to their life.The objective of this study is to clarify the theoretical bases for a space, a ground, and a background in figurative arts, especially as Ground in Gestalt psychology is compared between the western interpretations and perceptions and oriental being and not-being concepts. This study is to research the theoretical background, and 'being' and 'nothing' as philosophical thought, to divide Orientalism and Figure & Ground in Gestalt psychology to seven steps and to analyze them. In conclusion, a law, essence or a definition is not pure objective essence but world of sign based on relationship amongst human-being and between man and material. It is understanding on nature, but it is never one and only absolute truth. What the thoughts of 'Wittgenstein' and 'Derrida' commonly showed after 'Einstein' in the West is that an absolute being never exists. As a result, they say how the things look like depends upon the state of mind.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간의 지적 활동에는 직관적감성적인 것과 논리적이면서도 합리적인 두 가지 측면이 있다. 자연의 법칙에 순응하면서 삶을 영위해온 우리의 조상들은 논리적인 것보다는 직관적 감성적 문화에 익숙하다. 하지만 서구 사람들의 생활방식은 자연을 인간생활에 맞추려 한다. 게슈탈트 심리학(Gestalt psychology)에서 말하는 바탕에 대한 서구적 해석과 개념을 동양적인 무와 유의 사상과 비교함으로서 조형예술에 있어서의 여백, 바탕, 배경에 대한 이론적 근거를 분명히 하는데 이 연구의 목적을 두었다. 연구 내용은 이론적 배경과 철학적 사유로서의 유(有)와 무(無)에 관하여 고찰하였으며 이를 토대로 하여 동양사상과 게슈탈트 심리학의 바탕과 도형을 7단계로 나누어 비교 분석하였다.
