Lighting is one of the most important factors in photo-realistic 3D production. In most 3D animation production, some virtual light sources are used to imitate real world. However, there exists limitation to do so. In order to make up for such matters in various practical applications, a skill to produce more similar expression to real world by composing real images to 3D graphic models is being used. A real image is a thing being photographed with general digital or film cameras, which is called LDRI(Low Dynamic Range Image). But as there exist a little difference from people in seeing subject for photography, HDRI(High Dynamic Range Image) is needed to be formed for similar expression to that by people's eyes. To solve the problems in photo-realist 3D animation production, we applied the IBL(Image-Based Lighting) technique which uses a HDRI as an environment map. In this thesis we did not use special HDR cameras but general-purpose LDR cameras to create HDRI. In the production of animation, we tried to make active animation with applying all sources of light from the environment map. With these technique, it is possible to make active animation without expensive tools.
