국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 성호 이익과 순암 안정복을 중심으로 성호학파의 가족유대 의식과 家範을 살펴본 것이다. 이것은 이후 전개될 실학파의 가족인식을 검토하려는 시도 가운데 하나로 기획된 것이다. 성호학파의 주요 구성원인 성호와 순암은 한 사람의 학자이기 이전에 한 집안의 아들이자 아버지로서 또는 남편으로서 家長의 역할을 묵묵하게 수행했다. 중요한 삶의 터전인 가족이라는 유대 속에서 그들은 가족을 성의를 다해 꾸려나갔다. 성호는 넉넉지 않은 삶의 여건을 고려하여 소박하고 검소한 삶을 기꺼이 감내했다. 순암 역시 가난을 숙명처럼 안고 살았지만 아내와의 정의는 매우 도타왔다. 아울러 그들은 진심을 다해 때론 엄하게 때론 자상하게 자식과 친족 자녀들을 가르쳤다. 진정 성호와 순암은 자식으로서, 남편으로서, 한 집안의 가장으로서 성실하게 그 삶을 살아갔다. 우리는 그들의 삶의 여정을 살펴보면서 그들이 신실한 학자로서의 삶에서 뿐만 아니라 자기 삶의 토대를 구축하고 있는 가족의 구성원으로서도 제 역할을 충실하게 다 했다는 것을 알 수 있다. 그들은 학문에서 뿐 아니라 인간적인 삶의 자세에 있어서도 진지했다. 그들은 진정 앎과 삶을 분리하지 않았다. 그들은 자기에게 다가온 삶의 여건을 외면하지 않고 대응하면서 성실하면서도 인간적인 면모를 잃지 않았다. 그들이 자기 삶의 여정을 통해 구축한 학문적 성과인 실학은 삶과 전면적으로 조우하는, 삶의 방식으로서의 학문이었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examined the consciousness of family bonds and manners of family focused on Seongho Ik Lee and Sunam Jeongbok An. It is designed for one of attempts to review the family consciousness of Silhak School, which is unfolded after this. Seoungho and Sunam, the leading members of Seongho School, fulfilled their duties as the head of the family in silence, and also as a son, father, or husband, before as a scholar. They maintained their family with all earnestness within family bonds which provide an important living foundation. Seongho was willing to endure a simple and frugal life considering poor living conditions. Sunam was also destined to be poor, but had a very good relationship with his wife. In addition, they taught their children and relatives` children both strictly and tenderly with all sincerity. As a son, husband, and the lead of family, Seongho and Sunam led their lives faithfully. Through their lives, we realize that they played valuable roles not only of trustworthy scholars, but also of members of the family building the basis of their lives. They are serious about attitude toward human life as well as study. They did not separate knowledge and life. They did not avoid life circumstances coming toward themselves and faced them with faithfulness and human qualities. Silhak, an academic accomplishment they established through their journey, is study as way of life, which encounters life face to face.
