This article addresses young children's safety awareness in child care centers. The number of subjects for this study is 206 children from four kindergartens and two child care centers in Seoul. Major findings of this study are as follows. Children's safety awareness is revealed to be relatively high. From 70 to 90 percent of the children have shown enough safety awareness in indoor activities, outdoor activities, field studies, and on the street. A relatively lower level of safety awareness is found when they swing in the playground and are engaged in difficult-to-perform outdoor activities. The lowest level of 60% safety awareness is found when the children are faced with strangers. When the children are questioned to name facilities in the child care centers where they fear most being physically hurt, the largest number of children answered it to be classrooms. Some 10 percent of the respondents pointed the Gyms.
