大學生의 急進性向과 示威行動에 影響을 미치는 諸要因分析 : 釜山大學生을 中心으로 = Analysis on Radical Process and Student activism-related variables of Pusan National University Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between radical proneness and student activism and some variables which have a great deal influence on them.
According, we put emphasis upon the following two points in order to advance this study.
1) What variables will make students manifest radical proneness and student activism?
2) Can we say that radical proneness have influence on student activism?
The data were collected from a total of 1108 students at Pusan National University by already designed questionaire.
Some of the important findings from the research are summarized in the following.
Ⅰ. Important factors with relation to radical proneness are as follows.
(1) Social Background:
There is a growing tendency in radicalism in case of returned students and higher academic year students.
Especially, female students are more radical than male students.
(2) Personal Characteristics:
In general, students who won lower score and confronted many difficult problems to be solved are more radical than ordinary ones.
(3) Home Background:
The problems of stratum with relation to economic situation is more important factor in radical proneness. However, parent's expectation to their sons and daughters have no relation to it.
(4) The relation between personal attitude and radical proneness:
Students who cast pessimistic cutlook on social, political, economic situation are more radical than another students.
Ⅱ. Important factors with relation to student activism are as follows.
(1) Personal Background:
Higher academic students and returned students have much experienced the participation in student rebellion. At the same time, they are more radical than the test of students.
(2) Personal Character:
Students who won lower score and faced problems to be solved enjoyed student demonstration.
(3) Home Background:
In this home background, things which we can never neglect are economic affairs, social stratum, parent's education, generation gap:
Economic situation relating to social stratum, of course, made students manifest student activism. Outstandingly, of the above variables the standard of parent's education and generation gap invited students to student demonstration.
(4) The relation between student activism and personal consciousness:
Students who have pessimistic outlook on social, political, economic situation have more experienced the participation in student demonstration than ordinary students. At the same time such a facts producted ideological difficulty to those students.
Ⅲ. The relation between radical propensity and student activism:
we can definitely assert that there is a close direct relationship between radical proneness and student activism from this data analysis.
Now, we have come up to final stage to suggest some prescriptions for healing Korean adolescent's phenomena of disease due to student activism and radicalism based on the above investigated results.
1. Older generation leading Korean society should never neglect the achievement of realization of campus-democracy with whole heart. For not less students have pessimistic view point on social, political, economic situation.
2. Students who participated in university rebellion reveal generation gap. That is to say cultural generation gap. So, older generation should suggest-neo-vision of culture for the students' adjustment to environment with the change of the times.
3. We should abolish graduation quota policy to let students free from terror and depression of examination. That is the reason why students manifest some kind of radicalism.
