국문 초록 (Abstract)

관현악 편성법은 음악작곡의 창조적인 방법과 밀접한 관계가 있다. 관현악단에 의하여 만들어지는 음향은 작곡자의 사상을 외부로 나타내는 수단에 의해서 표현된다.
관현악을 위해 작곡되는 작품은 각 악기들의 특성에 의한 여러 악기들을 조합하는 방법과 작곡과정에서 고도로 절묘한 관현악 기법의 구사가 요구된다.
작곡자의 관현악에 대한 기술적인 능력은 각 악기의 성능, 악기의 특성, 악기들이 교차하며 내는 음향 등을 파악하고 있어야만 한다.
관현악의 문제점이나 악기들이 서로 화합하지 못하는 원인들이 과학적이고 효과적인 관현악 편성을 방해하는 것이다.
막연하고 불완전한 악보, 의심스러운 음색갈 등은 정확한 리듬이나 강약 또는 따뜻하거나 강렬한 음악을 표현하기가 불가능해 진다.
이 취주악단을 위한 행진곡은 보통 통상적인 편성에 의한 일반 취주악단에 의하여 연주될 수 있도록 어렵지 않게 성실하게 작곡, 출판된다.
음악형식은 겹세도막 형식이고 연주속도와 강약표시가 조심스럽게 기록되어 있다.
이곡을 연주하는 지휘자들을 위하여 작곡자에 의하여 권장되는 내용을 아래에 밝힌다.
1. 피콜로, 퓰륫, 오보에, 클라리넷, 바순, 모든 종류의 색소폰 등 목관악기파트는 가능하면 많은 악기가 사용되는 것이 좋다. 특히 세 파트의 클라리넷은 서로 절묘하게 연결되어 있고 전체적인 균형을 위하여 매우 중요하다.
2. 금관악기 파트, 즉 프렌취 혼, 트럼펫, 트럼본, 유포니움 튜바는 목관악기처럼 중요한 역할을 하고 있고 특히 2~3대의 유포니움을 사용할 것을 권장한다.
3. 타악기 파트에서는 한개의 스네어드럼, 큰북, 트라이앵글, 심발 그리고 철금이 사용되어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The true art of orchestration is inseparable from the creative act of composing music.
The sounds made by the orchestra are the ultimate external manifestation of musical ideas germinated in the mind of the composer.
Orchestration, in the sense here employed, refers to the process of writing music for the orohestra, using principle of instrumental combination.
The technical equipment of composer must include a through knowledge of the individual instruments, their capabilities, and characteristics and a mental conception of the sound of each.
A multitude of obstacles and unsolved problems has prevented the establishments of a science of orchestration.
The imperfection and vagueness of our musical notation makes it impossible to indicate with accuracy dynamic and rhythmic quantities as well as pitch, to say nothing of shades of tone color, warmth and intensity.
This march for band, a faithful composition for present day bands has been edited so as to be playable by any normally constituted band.
There are no difficult passages anywhere in the work.
The music form is a compound three-part song form.
All tempo and dynamic markings should be carefully observed.
A few observation maybe found helpful by the conductor who wishes to follow the ideas of composer in performance.
1. Piccolo, flutes, oboe, Bb clarinet, Bassoon, and all kinds of saxophones, these woodwind instrument section, I sought the greatest possible should therefore be used.
The 1st. Bb clarinet section should be equal in strength to the 2nd. and 3rd. sections combined, or even slightly stronger. this is most important for proper balance.
2. Brass instruments, as French horns, Trumpets, Trombones, Euphonium, Tuba, etc.
It is essential that all parts be played. they should be approximately equal in strength.
Two or more baritones or euphoniums should be used.
3. Percussion, one snaredrum, bassdrum, triangle, symbals, and glockenspiel.
