    The high-probability (high-p) request sequence has been demonstrated to be effective for improving compliance with requests. Recently, researchers have expanded the high-p strategy to promote specific language and social skills. This paper reviewed the empirical studies on the use of high-p request sequences from early applications to recent studies and the results indicated that the high-p interventions were effective to increase a variety of skills for a wide age group of participants. In particular, the high-p request sequences could be used to promote functional skills in young children with special needs. Implications for practice and for future research in early childhood special education were suggested. <Keywords> high-probability request sequence, interspersed requests, young children with special needs, compliant behavior
