DNCB로 유도된 NC/Nga 마우스의 아토피 피부염에 대한 野菊의 효능 연구 = Effect of chrysanthemi borealis flos on atopy dermatitis induced by DNCB in NC/Nga mouse

Chrysanthemi Borealis Flos is the flower of the Chrysanthemum boreale which is the rhizocarp of the Compositae. During a traditional asian medicine clinical study, it was proven effective when it comes to the treatment by lowering temperature and by detoxicating. Likewise, it is used to treat boil, reddening and swelling of the eyes, headache and dizziness etc. To examine the effect of the C. boreale for the atopy skin inflammation, clinical score, ear thickness, scratching behavior, and IgE, IL-4, IFN-γ among serum were measured, and the following results were obtained by observing the ear organ’s forms.

1. In the clinical scoring, control group manifested clear and diverse atopy symptoms, but all the atopy symptoms were curtailed in a statistically significant manner in the groups where the prototype was administrated orally and in the group where it was applied to the skin.
2. In the ear thickness measurement, ear thickness decreased in all the prototype treatment groups. In particular, it decreased significantly in the group that administrated C. boreale orally.
3. In the scratching behavior evaluation, scratching behavior decreased in all the prototype treatment groups. Compared to the control group, groups where the prototype was administrated orally was curtailed by about 51∼65 % while group where it was applied to the skin experienced 28∼29 % curtailing
4. Content of the IgE, IL-4, IFN-γ among serum, had decreased in all the prototype treatment groups compared to the control group.
5. As ear’s Histological observation, all the prototype treatment groups showed ulcer, neutrophil and lymph node imbibition, and curtailing of the abnormal increase in the fibroblast and collagen layer.

C. boreale that is used in the traditional asian medicine to treat by lowering temperature and by detoxicating, was proven effective for the atopy skin inflammation, which is immunity related complication besides the anti-inflammation reaction reported before.
Therefore, it was possible to apply actively for the treatment of the atopy skin inflammation during the traditional Asian medicine, and it has potential to be developed as the atopy skin inflammation symptom alleviation medicine or treatment medication.
