인문,사회과학편 : 아리스토텔레스의 체육사상(7): 카타르시스를 중심으로 = Aristotle`s thought of physical education(7): centered on catharsis

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to explore Aristotle s catharsis in Poetics. I tried to approach function of the catharsis which has the ability to excrete and purge stress and negative emotions through sports. I divided the functions of catharsis into two sides, complication and denouement, centered on Aristotle's presupposition that the origin of catharsis is from tragedy. First, catharsis in the complication has the function of excretion to get rid of human violence or stress. Second, catharsis in the denouement has transcended the former function and has the ability to purge the emotions. It is worthwhile to examine the value of sports. We have the chance to eliminate negative emotions. However, we have experienced catharsis through sports that is the unexpected or complex process and the distinct result in that we feel better and are satisfied as well as delighted. Accordingly, his thought about catharsis has suggested the philosophical background of the function and the value of sports in modem society.
