상악에 발생한 치근단 낭종 1례 = A Case of Radicular Cyst of the Maxilla

국문 초록 (Abstract)

치주성 낭종은 치근막의 상피잔사로부터 형성되며 전부 염증성으로 유래된다. 보통 치근단 부위에 발생하므로 치근단 낭종이라고 명명되나, 치근의 측면을 따라서 형성될 수도 있으며, 이러한 경우 측방 치주성 낭종이라고 한다. 또한 무치악 부위에서 염증성으로 발생되는 낭종을 잔류성 낭종이라고 부르며, 이것은 감염된 치아의 발거시에 병적 조직을 완전히 제거하지 못함으로써 초래된다. 본 증례는 상악 좌측 제1소구치의 치수 괴사로 인해 야기된 치근단 낭종으로 통상적인 치근단 낭종에 비해 그 크기가 큰 증례이다. 저자들은 상악에 발생한 치근단 낭종을 성공적으로 치험하였기에 이를 보고하는 바이다.

A periodontal cyst is formed from epithelial rests or remnants in the periodontal membrane. These cysts are all of inflammatory origin. The usual location is at the apex of the tooth, where they are termed radicular cysts, but they also maybe formed along the lateral surface and then termed lateral periodontal cysts. Cysts of inflammatory nature in edentulous areas are termed residual cysts. These result from incomplete surgical removal of pathological tissue at the time an infected tooth is extracted. Our case is radicular cyst that originated from left maxillary first premolar. We report a case of large radicular cyst in left maxillary area.
