대학 영어전용 교과의 수업 방법 개선 방안 탐색과 적용: 수행공학 모형(HPT Model)을 바탕으로 = Employing the HPT process model to Solve Some Problems of an English Medium Instruction

As more and more English medium instruction have been introduced to university students in Korea, the most critical issues facing educators include how to solve some problems that exist in current English medium instruction to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. For the reason, the intents of this study were to explore some ways to improve English medium instructions by solving some problems associated with them. To pursue the purpose of this study, this study employed the HPT process model. This study was conducted by a five-step systematic approach: (1) identifying the gaps between what was actually accomplished and the desire accomplishment of the English medium instruction, (2) identifying the causes of the gaps in accomplishments, (3) identifying solutions to diminish or eliminate the gaps, (4) implementing the solutions into the class, and (5) evaluating the effectiveness of the implemented solutions. The results of the evaluation showed that implemented solutions increased students English skills and improved their learning. Finally, I expect that the process and the findings of this study help instructors to design their own effective English medium instructions.
