지역문화행사와 종교신념에 따른 수용인지간 갈등에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

종교 화합과 종교다원화 시대에 지역문화행사시 발생할 수 있는 종교문화갈등 현상에 대해서 어떻게 하는 것이 바람직한 접근방법인지 지역문화행사의 수용자인 주민들의 종교성향에 따른 수용인식을 토대로 연구할 필요가 있다. 지역문화행사 참가자들의 종교신념에 따른 수용인식간의 갈등에 대해서 설문조사를 토대로 연구를 진행하였다. 조사대상 범위는 전남지역 4곳의 지역축제(진도 영등제, 지리산 남악제, 무안 백련대축제, 화순 운주축제)를 대상으로 하였다. 축제의 참여동기를 살펴보면 종교적 동기에 의한 참가는 의미를 부여하기 어려울 정도로 비율이 저조하였으며, 종교와 관계없이 참여할 수 있는 문화관광축제의 성격을 가지는 것으로 조사되었다. 즉 지방자치단체들이 경쟁적으로 추진하고 있는 지역축제 방문객의 종교신념에 따른 수용인지간에 경향성은 발견되지 않았다. 나아가 축제참가자의 종교, 신앙생활 연한, 종교기관내 담당 직분 여부, 세례(영세․수계)와 같은 종교의식 참가 경험 등에 의해서도 유의미한 관계는 도출되지 않았다. 다시 말해 지방자치단체에서 경쟁적으로 추진하고 각종 지역축제 중에서도 종교적 성향이 강하여 종교간 마찰잠재성이 상대적으로 큰 축제에서도 현재 종교적 의미는 거의 희석되었고, 관광과 여가 향유의 대상으로서 일종의 문화관광축제로 그 성격이 변형되었다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 지역축제를 개최함에 있어 종교를 테마로 한 축제는 지역주민이나 방문객의 종교관으로 인한 종교적 갈등을 우려하여 안된다고 예단할 필요는 없으며, 종교 테마축제 프로그램의 경우에도 종교적 갈등관계를 적극적으로 고려할 필요는 없다는 것을 시사받을 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is necessary to research how to solve the conflict which could happen in the regional culture festival in the time of religious pluralism. Therefore this research is based on the investigation on how citizens can accept and tolerate other religions in the regional culture festival. Its scope covers four kinds of local festival happening in Korean Southwest Area(so-called Jeon-Nam). According to the investigation, in the participation motive deriving from religious motive is not significant in the festivals. in a sense the festivals are characterized by local cultural and tourist festivals.Its meaning is that everybody can take part in the festivals without consideration of which religions the citizens have. In addition, there is no significant relationship between festival participants and their religious beliefs such as how long they attend a church, what duty they have in a church, whether they are baptized. In other words, in local festivals which is competitively propelled by Korean local authorities, religious tints are weakened and turned into local cultural and tourist festivals. This phenomenon is also observed in the festivals held by religious organizations. This research shows that there is no considering religious elements excessively in the organization of a festival in Korea, not to say that it is not necessary to worry about religious elements.
