헌팅턴의 `미국 히스패닉 앰퍼샌드 정체성과 동화주의 명제`에 대한 실증적 비판 = Huntington`s Hypothesis on Hispanic Ampersand Identity in American Politics and Its Critic

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to analyze the Huntington`s six propositions on the assimilation model for the Hispanic immigrants and the recent U.S. immigration policy. This research aims to criticize the assimilation model through demographical, normative, and political approach. This study shows that Huntington`s non-assimilation argument is exaggerated and distorted. The concept of assimilation model itself includes exclusion and discrimination. The academic contribution of this research is as following. First, by studying the immigration policy for Hispanics, this research critically offers the opportunity to prove that the U.S.`s assimilation model has caused numerous discriminations so far. Also it criticizes the feasibility of Hispanic immigrant`s non-assimilation model. In conclusion, this research clarifies how the U.S. has discriminated diverse races and groups. Moreover, this research would contribute to help people in finding the ways of achieving national integration.
