A selective and quantitatively atomic absorption spectrometric measurements have been developed for the determination of trace Ni(Ⅱ) with 3M-thiocyanate and 3% Aliquat 336-CCl₄. Ni(Ⅱ)-thiocyanate complex was extracted into high molecular alkylamine such as quaternary ammonium salt and stripped into 0.1M-HC1 solution. Beer's law obeys in the range of 14 ppm and concentration factor was 5X. Analysis of Ni(Ⅱ) in seawater was performed by the proposed method.
