This study has its purpose for increasing concerns about and participations at nursing their children of the fathers by examining the relationships between the types of paternal behavior and moral development of infants, and for contributing to direct to the moral development of the infants by suggesting advisable types of paternal behavior for the relationship of father and their children.
The subjects of study set for these purposes are as follow;
(Subject 1) - What is the relation between paternal behavior of fathers and moral development of the infants?
(Subject 2) - Is there any difference of moral development level of infants by characteristics of backgrounds of the study of populations?
The objectives of sampling for this study are four hundred fathers who have infant children and four hundred of their infants, and the instrument of research are questionnaire of paternal behavior of Schaefer(1959)'s Maternal Behavior Research Instrument(MBRI), translated by Yi Won Young(1983) and questionnaire for measuring moral development of Hebble translated and used by Yi Ki Woo(1982). which is presented with drawings by Park Sang Hye(1991). The collected materials for this study have been computerized into data base by SPSS/PC+ statistics program. It is used Cronbach a as measuring tool and analyzed.
The results of analysis with this study are as follow;
First, as a result of analysis for relationship between paternal behavior and moral development of the infants, it is shown that there is close relation between paternal behavior with love and autonomous bringingup in terms of moral development, and there is no relation at all between paternal behavior with rejection and statistic paternal behavior in terms of moral development.
Second, as a result of analysis for difference of paternal behavior according to its characteristics of background by study of population, no close difference has been shown by age of fathers statistically, but the more paternal behavior with love has, the more the education backgrounds of fathers have and the more fathers have managerial occupations, the more autonomous paternal behavior have.
Third, as a result of examination for difference of morality according to its characteristics of background by study of population, the index of moral development according to the age of infants has been shown significant difference statistically, but no difference in terms of their gender.
