Mankind has been using talismans and mantras. They exists on the purpose of overcoming all the obstacles in life using the power of gods.
From the ancient age, various talismans and symbols which can substitute them have been used.
In ancient Egypt, "The Eye of Horus" has been used as a talisman that is transmitted as a mysterious symbol to the modern age. In Thailand and Japan, talismans are so popular that peaple take them as mascots or religious symbols.
Every religion has its own peculiar mantras, especially in Buddhism and Taoism. Religious people have taken talismans and mantras as tools of asceticism.
Hong-yeon-jin-gyul is an astrology book published in?the Chosun dynasty which includes the asceticism with talismans and mantras. The main content of Hong-yeon-jin-gyul is Hong-yeon Gimundungap that treats all the events between the sky and the earth.
The main mantra in Hong-yeon-jin-gyul is Tae-eul-kyung that pairs with Tae-eul-bu, the talisman.
In the Hong-yeon-jin-gyul there are many names of gods. The main gods are six gods that have feminine energy among twelve gods. In the asceticisim with talismans and mantras, the most important thing is goodness including faith, sincerity and respect.
The asceticisim begins with a divine ceremony on the most divine day. The direction of altar is very important in the asceticisim to attract the most divine energy.
This asceticisim is done in the most divine time on the most divine day repeating mantras with talismans. This asceticisim can get you concentration and inner comfort, and cause you enlightenment and realization by affecting all the organs of sense. This is the purpose of every asceticisim in the world.
