Foundry sand dust is a waste from foundry plants, which is a little larger in diameter then portland cement. This substituted 10% of fire aggregate in lean concrete and Shotcrete. Laboratory tests and field applications were performed in order to investigate the mechanistic character and applicability, respectively. The results show that foundry sand dust can be utilized in lean concrete resulting in energy saving, environment reservation and saving money. This also can be used in shotcrete having more viscous property, thus reduce the rebound of shotcrete.
