The purpose of this study was to analyze and evaluate Roger's science of unitary human-being. Rogers conceptalizes man as a unitary human-being who is an irreducible, four-dimensinal, negentropic energy field identified by pattern and manifesting characteristics different from those of part and which cannot be predicted from knowledge of the parts. Unitary man develops through the principles of humeodynamics : helicy, resonancy and integrality. And the life processes are evolutionary, which is irreversible and uni-directional within a space and time continum. Major concepts of this model are 'Energy field', 'Openness', 'Pattern', 'Pan-dimensionality'. Rogers says nursing is a learned profession and an art of imaginative and creative use of this abstract knowledge in human service. Roger’s abstract conceptual model is broad in scope. The model is not meant to be testable, but theories drawn from it are so. The model generates information by increasing our understanding of human being and life process. Although new abstract words of this model sometimes seem difficult, but Roger's model challenges us to meet our societal obligation in creative ways. Martha Rogers has been instrumental in moving nursing toward full professingalization. Her conceptual model of unitary human beings presents a clear, direct statement about the unique focus on nursing, and a visionary perspective of nursing as a science and art.
