튀르키예 내 시리아 난민 이해 = Understanding Syrian Refugee in Türkiye

국문 초록 (Abstract)

시리아는 문명과 제국이 독특하게 융합된 지역이다. 시리아인들은 자신들의 오래되고 풍요로운 역사, 중동에서의 높은 지위, 낮은 문맹율 을 근거로 자신들이 아랍세계의 정수라고 생각한다. 따라서, 이들은 자 부심이 강하다. 튀르키예내 시리아 난민의 많은 수는 수니 아랍족이지 만 시리아가 중동에서 가장 다양한 종교적 종파와 종족 분포를 보이는 국가이므로 이들을 대상으로 사역할 때 시리아인이 어떤 종족, 종파에 속하는지 알고 임하는 것이 필요하다.
튀르키예는 역사적으로 많은 난민을 받아들인 국가였고, 2011년 시리아 내전이 발발한 이후 시리아 난민을 계속 받아들였다. 2022년 7월 현재 튀르키예내 시리아 난민은 365만명이 있는데 튀르키예 전 역에 퍼져 있으며 튀르키예에 사회적, 경제적, 정치적 영향을 끼쳤다. 2023년 5월에 시행된 튀르키예 대통령 선거에서 시리아 난민 문제는 가장 중요한 이슈였고, 시리아 난민의 귀환은 시리아 정부를 비롯한 주 변국과의 관계 등에 따라 가능한 문제인데 해결이 쉽지 않아 결국 많은 수의 시리아 난민들은 계속 튀르키예에 거주하게 될 것으로 전망된다. 따라서, 튀르키예내 시리아 난민 선교는 튀르키예 교회와 선교사들에 게 중요한 과제로 계속 남을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Syria is a region where civilization and empires have uniquely fused together. Syrians consider themselves to be the essence of the Arab world on the basis of their long and rich history, high status in the Middle East, and low illiteracy rates. Therefore, they take strong pride in themselves. Many Syrian refugees in Türkiye are Sunni Arabs, but since Syria is a country with the most diverse religious sects and ethnic distributions in the Middle East, it is necessary to know which ethnic group and sect the Syrians belong to when ministering to them.
Türkiye has been historically a host country for many refugees and has continued to receive Syrian refugees since the Syrian Civil War broke out in 2011. As of July 2022, there are 3.65 million Syrian refugees spread throughout Türkiye, and this has had a social, economic, and political impact on the country. The Syrian refugee issue was the most important issue during the Turkish presidential election held in May 2023, and the return of Syrian refugees is a potential issue depending on the relations between the Syrian government and neighboring countries. However, this is also a difficult issue to settle, so a large number of Syrian refugees are expected to continue staying in Türkiye for a while. Consequently, Syrian refugee missions in Türkiye remains an important task for churches and missionaries in Türkiye.
