대학생의 문제에 관한 조사연구의 비판적 고찰 = The Critical Analysis of Research Papers about College Students' Problems in Korea Universities

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is to suggest the possibility for an alternative mode about the recognition of the co1lege students' problems in Korea. Hypothetically an alternative mode suggested here is charaterized as "normative viewpoint" on the recognition of the college students' problems contrasted to "descriptive viewpoint".
The critical analysis of 30 research papers about college students' problems in Korea universities show some features of descriptive viewpoient which the writer has called "terms of description": aptitude, general tendency, external motives and quantitative interpretations. Consequently the aim, hypothesis, results, findings and conclusions of those papers are analyzed and interpretated in brief as follows, those papers
1) aim at collecting "scientific" or objective data of students' problems. "Scientific" implies "value neutrality" for recognition of students' problems.
2) attempt to make recommendations about administrative treatment for campus life.
3) synthesize the problem brought about by the differences of individual students; that is, general tendency.
4) constiute the problem items on the bases of external causes.
5) measure and interprete the seriousness of the problems by quantitative way.
If normative viewpoient mentioned is there, the problems of college students must be identified as expression of the state of mind. So the stuty must be on the base of structural approach rather than naturalistic approach.
