인천시민들의 생활환경만족도에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the citizens' degree of satisfaction about the living environments as well as residential conditions in Incheon Metropolitan City. Sample survey using questionnaire has been accompanied to analyze the degree of satisfaction in 9 areas of living environments. The results show that the degrees of satisfaction in all 9 areas are very low. Especially, citizens tend to be dissatisfied most with ecological aspects such as air pollution and noise among other living conditions. Then, it is also found that the low satifaction on living environments is closely related to the citizen's low commitment on residential establishment. The younger with higher education tend to have higher intention to move out from Incheon area. However, citizens have optimistic visions for the possibility of development in Incheon for next 5 years in spite of the low satisfaction at present. These results indicate that policies to improve the overall living environments of Incheon should be carried out more actively.
