After one of the most powerful trends of modern Hindi poetry - CHAYAVAAD(Romanticism and mysticism) and the other trend based on Marxism - PRAGATIVAAD, the new poets felt around 1938 that the given (traditional) forms of poetry were no longer appropriate for communication of their poetic experiences under changing circumstances. therefore they stressed experiments with regard to language and form to find out more suitable ones. In the process some of the poets propagated experiments to the extreme. And an effort was made to create experimental poetry - PRAYOGVAAD (which later merged with in NEW POETRY) and this was altogether new and different from the earlier forms.
