부모의 애착 결여가 다문화 청소년 비행에 미치는 영향: 우울의 매개경로 분석 = The Influence of Parental Attachment Deprivation on Delinquency among Multicultural Adolescents: The Mediating Role of Depression

This study aims to identify the structural relationship between the lack of parental attachment perceived by multicultural adolescents and delinquency, and to verify the mediating effect of depression in that process. To this end, 1,842 multicultural adolescents who responded to the srvey were selected as the study subjects using data from the 5th wave of the 2nd cohort of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS). The collected data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and the significance of the mediating effect was verified using the bootstrapping method.
The results of the study showed that the lack of parental attachment had a significant positive effect on the depression of multicultural adolescents, and depression was confirmed to have a significant positive effect on delinquency. Furthermore, the full mediating effect of depression in the relationship between the lack of parental attachment and delinquency was verified. In other words, it was confirmed that the lack of parental attachment acts as a key mediator that increases the possibility of delinquency through the emotional pathway of depression, rather than having a direct effect on delinquency.
Based on these findings, this study suggested that for the prevention of delinquency among multicultural adolescents, practical psycho-emotional interventions that can alleviate depression stemming from the unique strain structures they face should be prioritized, rather than simply focusing on improving parent-child relationships.
