ESG 관점의 의료서비스 안전문화 모델 개발 및 검증: H상급종합병원을 중심으로 = Developing and analyzing a safety culture model of healthcare services: An ESG perspective focused on H-tertiary hospital

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the effects of top management commitment, the ESG implementation culture, employee participation, and improvement activities on operational performance through developing a safety culture model of healthcare services. A survey was conducted during January 20, 2024 - February 20, 2024, among employees at H tertiary hospital in South Korea. The results of the study revealed the following. First, the role of top management has positive effects on developing the culture of medical waste management practices (H1) and the culture of ethical practices (H2). However, H3 was not significant. Second, employee engagement had a statistically significant effect on the medical waste management practice culture (H4), safe practice environment culture (H5), and ethical behavior culture (H6). Third, the standardized path coefficients between employee participation and improvement activities (H7) and between improvement activities and operational performance (H8) were statistically significant.The findings of this study provide valuable insights for the decision-making processes of healthcare managers, executives, and policymakers regarding the implementation of ESG initiatives in healthcare organizations.
