This study was investigated to determine the residual amounts of acephate and its metabolite methamidophos used to control Myzus persicae and Lipaphis erysimi. The residual amounts of acephate and methamidophos in Korean cabbage ranged from 0.11 to 4.61 mg kg-1 and 0.10 to 0.63 mg kg-1, respectively. Because the maximum residue limits (MRL) of acephate and methamidophos in the Korean cabbage was 5.0 mg kg-1 and 1.0 mg kg-1, respectively, it can be proposed for these chemicals to apply up to 3 times before 7 day of harvest in Korea. Threshold maximum daily intake(TMDI, estimate daily intake per acceptable daily intake rate (EDI/ADI%)) of acephate were calculated over 129%. This risk assessments shows that the acephate are overused or maximum residue limits (MRL) of crops are too high. So pesticides containing acephate must be controled.
