대학생들의 난민에 관한 인식과 태도는 어떻게 구성되는가? = How Are University Students’ Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Refugees Constructed?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학생들의 난민에 관한 인식과 태도가 어떻게 구성되는지를 심도 있게 이해하는 것이다. 연구방법으로는 객관주의가 아닌 구성주의적 견해를 중심으로 사회적 실재에 유연하게 다가가는 방식인Charmaz(2006)의 구성주의 근거이론을 채택하였다. 자료수집을 위해 지속적비교 및 나선형 접근에 토대하여 연구참여자를 선정했고, 기준에 부합하며자발적 참여 의사를 밝힌 총 10명의 남녀 대학생과 한 사람당 2~4회기에 걸쳐 연구주제에 관해 대화했다. 해석학적 순환의 구조로 자료를 분석한 결과연구주제와 관련한 초기코딩 60개, 초점코딩 14개가 드러났고, 이를 다시 유목화하여 최종 5개의 이론적 코딩으로 연구참여자들의 인식과 경험을 구조화했다. 구체적으로 이론적 코딩은 ‘우리 현실에서는 으레 당연시된 난민 거부감’, ‘나름의 방식으로 난민에 관한 편견 깨보기’, ‘난민 찬성과 부정의 대립 안 거듭하는 성찰’, ‘난민 포용 더딘 변화 속에서 찾는 작은 묘안’, ‘난민공존 대책 갖춰 달라져야 할 미래’와 같았다. 연구에서의 새로운 발견들을바탕으로, 난민에 관한 사회적 인식 개선, 편견과 고정관념 재고, 난민과의공존 가능성 확대 등의 차원에서 논의점을 제시했다

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This inquiry aimed to gain a deeper understanding of how their perceptions and attitudes toward refugees formed. The study employed Charmaz’s (2006) constructivist grounded theory, a flexible approach to social reality rooted in a constructivist rather than an objectivist perspective. Participants were selected through continuous comparison and a spiral approach, resulting in 10 male and female university students who met the criteria and voluntarily participated in two to four interview sessions each on the research topic. After analyzing the data in a hermeneutic circle structure, this study identified 60 initial codes and 14 focus codes related to the research topic. These codes were then organized into five theoretical codes to structure the participants’ perceptions and experiences. Specifically, these theoretical codes are as follows: ‘Repulsion toward refugees, which has been taken for granted in Korea,’ ‘Addressing prejudices against refugees in personal ways,’ ‘Engaging in ongoing self-reflection on pro- and anti-refugee attitudes,’ ‘A small solution sought in the slow transformation of refugee inclusion,’ and ‘The future that must change with measures for promoting coexistence with refugees.’ Drawing from these new insights, the study presents discussion points aimed at enhancing social awareness about refugees, reevaluating biases and stereotypes, and expanding opportunities for coexistence with refugees
