「역수책(易數策)」에 드러난 율곡(栗谷)의 자연학적(自然學的) 역학관(易學觀) = A study on the views of Yulgok`s Natural philosophy portrayed in Yeoksoochaek

This study attempts to investigate the view of Yulgok`s natural philosophy portrayed in「Yeoksoochaek(易數策)」.「Yeoksoochaek」is based on essential elements of the 『Book of Changes』 namely, image(象), figure(數) and principle(理). Yulgok says in his 「Yeoksoochaek」that the principles mentioned in 『Book of changes』 are views of ``i`` and ``gi`` and it is formed by the principles originated from wisdom of natural philosophy. Yulgok wrote Chaekmun(策問) which analyzed the real principles of natural world in 『Book of changes』. The relationship between ``i`` and ``gi`` is portrayed in oddity of the mixed ``i`` and ``gi`` in the aspect of practice(用). Yulgok understood the world of nature as eternal. Moreover, he acknowledged the Heokjeonyuyeok[畵前有易, existence of natural world]. This mentions the natural world assumed as existence of gathered and spreaded ``gi`` before the creation of universe in time and space recognized by the humans which means that Yulgok understood gathering and spreading of ``gi`` as natural phenomenon based on the principles in 『Book of Changes』 of Saengsaengjiyeok(生生之易). Referring to 64 trigrams, though these are limited figures, Yulgok imparted meaning to the figures of foundation for infinity including the principles in 『Book of Changes』. This principle includes and transcends principle of infinite nature and it is a result of interpreting the principle of figure and principle in 『Book of Changes』. Criticism of scholars for ``study of changes(易)`` in successive generations discussed in 「Yeoksoochaek」 displays the flow of contemporary political and social Chinese classics and judgement of value. Yulgok suggested lineage of Taoism and foundation of studies in 『Book of Changes』 as a process of criticism. It makes us understand the principles and figure of Yulgok and informs us about the strong academic base of contemporary Sung Confucianism. For Yulgok, studies in 『Book of Changes』 is an academic study, divine study, and its a study of Taoism in through which the source of principle in 『Book of Changes』 should be penetrated. This study dealt with themes like Heokjeonyuyeok(畵前有易), Igimyoyong(理氣妙用), view of lineage in Taoism(道統觀), foundation of studies in 『Book of Changes』 and principle limitedness in 『Book of Changes』 to include and transcend infinite. The points explored in the study mainly were- Yulgok`s understanding about Changes(易)?figure(數)?Taeguk(太極), Yulgok`s view of studies in 『Book of Changes』 through criticism of figure and the detailed characteristics of principle in 『Book of Changes』 interpreted by Yulgok.
