As the climate crisis intensifies, the frequency and severity of heatwaves are increasing, making it necessary to establish precise response strategies that reflect regional characteristics. This study analyzed heatwave vulnerability in Gimje-si, which has been identified as one of the areas vulnerable to heatwaves in Jeollabuk-do, by incorporating both climatic and social characteristics. For this purpose, spatial overlay analysis was conducted at a 30m × 30m grid scale using five indicators: land surface temperature(LST), elderly population, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), existing heat shelters, and water systems. Based on the comprehensive analysis map derived from this process, LISA analysis was applied to quantitatively identify high-risk areas. Through this procedure, heatwave vulnerable areas within Gimje-si were delineated in detail, and hot spot and cool spot analyses were performed by considering surrounding conditions, shelter accessibility, and vegetation distribution to identify the spatial concentration of risk. The results of this study can serve as baseline data for region-specific heatwave response and climate-adaptive spatial planning.
