The provision of amenities in cultural and art spaces aims to offer users a convenient and enjoyable experience. This study aims to analyze the utilization of idle spaces for cultural and artistic purposes within the context of urban regeneration in Seoul. By doing so, it seeks to shine a line on the social value of this projects and provide essential data for the sustainable development and design activation of such spaces. To achieve this, the research classifies these spaces into categories consisting of environmental, aesthetic, convenience, and cultural characteristics, all of which are types of amenities. A survey of three out of the 11 recently reopened cultural and artistic spaces in Seoul highlights aesthetics as the most prominent attribute among these characteristics, while convenience ranks the lowest. In terms of aesthetics, the emphasis is placed on creating a harmonious and inviting ambiance both on the exterior and interior. However, regarding convenience characteristic, easy access to various art programs and information contrasts with the challenge of ensuring sustainability due to limited public transportation access. Although there is an expectation that urban regeneration culture and art spaces will evolve into unique public areas with distinct identities and cultural significance, further research on a variety of public spaces is necessary.
