Diverse facets of communications of art museums are fundamentally based on the communication between art objects and viewers. Exhibitions and educational programs are the most important medium of object-based museum communication. Hence, understanding the viewers' perceptions, reasoning, and thinking about art objects provide theoretical base to maximize the communicative effects of museum exhibitions and education. This study analyzed the theory of aesthetic development stages by A. Housen and M. J. Parsons, the representative scholars in the field of aesthetic development. Based on the examination of the 5 aesthetic development stages, implications for art museum exhibitions and education programs were proposed.
