After the outbreak of COVID-19, online learning began to attract attention again, MOOC (Massive, Open, Online, Course), a large-scale open lecture, operated around the world and achieved quantitative growth of members and applicants, but the low completion rate is being discussed regarding the effectiveness of MOOC. The reasons for learners' dropout include lack of time, lack of motivation, lack of interaction, lack of knowledge about learning, and lack of skills for using digital devices. In this study, in order to compensate for the dropout of MOOC learners,
In the influence of content quality factors on learners' willingness to continue learning, Whether it has a mediating effect of learning engagement and We demonstrated whether digital literacy has a controlling effect The purpose is to derive academic and practical implications.
Based on this, the research questions were set as follows. First, does content quality affect learning commitment in the K-MOOC environment? Second, does content quality affect the intention to continue learning in the K-MOOC environment? Third, in the K-MOOC environment, does learning commitment mediate the relationship between content quality and learning persistence? Fourth, in the K-MOOC environment, does digital literacy have a moderating effect in the relationship between content quality and learning commitment? Finally, in the K-MOOC environment, does digital literacy have a moderating effect in the relationship between content quality and learning persistence?
In order to verify this research questions, a survey was conducted on adult learners with experience in taking K-MOOC courses, and a total of 266 questionnaires were used. Statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 to analyze the survey, The following research results were derived using confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, and multiple regression analysis.
First, in the relationship between content quality on adult learners' intention to continue learning in MOOC, information quality and service quality, which are content quality factors, had a positive effect on learning continuity intention, and service quality was not significant. Second, in the MOOC, the effect of content quality on adult learners' learning commitment was significant in the order of service quality and information quality among content quality factors, but system quality did not significantly affect learning commitment. Third, in MOOC, the relationship between content quality and adult learners' willingness to continue learning, Learning commitment was found to have a mediating effect. In addition, there was a positive effect on the relationship between learning commitment and intention to continue learning. Fourth, digital literacy is about content quality and willingness to continue learning, The relationship between content quality and learning commitment It has been confirmed to have a controlling effect. In addition, the mediating effect of learning commitment between content quality and continuous learning intention The controlled mediating effect of digital literacy was verified.
Based on the results of this study, the implications are as follows. First, it is necessary to secure homogeneity in the research subject by limiting the field of future courses or limiting the operation method, completion experience, and number of classes. Second, it is necessary to re-verify in terms of the effectiveness of content quality by limiting the same educational environment and media. Third, it is necessary to explore various variables in the technical aspect that affect MOOC and the online learning environment, It is necessary to find various ways to increase content quality and digital literacy, which are factors that can increase the willingness to continue learning.
