The Purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation and scoring style between each event and level in decathlon.
The subjects were 20 decathletes who participated in the 24th Seoul Olympic Games and completely finished every event in decathlon competition.
The competition results were the main source of analysis.
The implications of this study are as follows ;
1. The scoring style was similar by each level in decathlon.
2. The long-jump score was higher than 100m sprint in the high level group, But in the low level group the score was lower than 100m sprint.
3. The competition result between each event had no statistically significant difference in P<.05 level, except throwing event.
4. There was high correlation between throwing event in decathlon and statistically significant difference in P<.05 level.
Therefore the decathlete who can make high score in shot-put throwing would also make higher scores in other throwing events.
