사회자본이 집단가치에 미치는 영향 : 한ㆍ일 양국간 비교를 중심으로 = The Impact of Social Capital on the Collective Value in Korea and Japan

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 사회자본이 집단가치에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 집단가치가 어린시절 경험에 영향을 받는다는 일반론적 관점과는 달리 사회적 관계를 통해서도 변할 수 있다는 사회자본관점에서 연구하였다. Schwartz(1992)의 가치체계를 사회자본 이론에 접목하고, 이를 통해 집단가치에 대한 사회자본의 전반적인 영향력을 진단코자 하였다. 또한 동일한 문화권에 속하면서도 가치체계나 발전정도가 다른 한국과 일본을 비교하여, 이들 간에 어떤 공통점과 차이점이 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 한국과 일본 주민 1,985명을 대상으로 분석한 결과, ① 한ㆍ일 양국은 사회자본의 성격에 따라 집단가치가 달라진다는 공통점을 보였다. 관계구조가 동질적 성향을 지닌 일차적ㆍ비공식적 관계인지, 아니면 이질적 성향의 이차적ㆍ공식적 관계인지에 따라 다르게 나타나고 있다. 동질적 관계가 높은 사람들은 준법의식과 평등의식은 높으나 제도순응이 낮고, 이질적 관계가 높은 사람은 제도순응과 탈물질 의식은 높으나 준법의식과 평등의식은 낮게 나타났다. ② 하지만 사회자본과 집단가치 관계구조에 있어서는 한ㆍ일간 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 한국은 가족관계가 집단가치에 가장 큰 영향을 미치나 일본은 이질적 단체참여의 영향이 가장 높게 나타나고 있다. 집단가치에 미치는 변수별 영향에 있어서도 한국은 주로 가족이나 직장관계 위주로 나타나고 사회단체 참여는 거의 영향력을 행사하지 못하나, 일본은 가족, 직장, 사회참여 모두가 골고루 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 한ㆍ일 양국의 차이 발생 요인과 한국의 집단가치 증진을 위한 향후 과제에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines whether social capital affects collective values. Following Schwartz's value system theory, this study analyzes how the personal values, that is, conformity, openness to change, self-enhancement, self-transcendence are differentiated by social capital. Survey data are collected, in Korea and Japan. This research finds that the collective values of a group are affected by the structure of human relationship. That is, closed and hierarchical social capital generated from informal relationship has a positive effect on the consciousness of the law conformity and self-transcendence. However, the hierarchical social capital has a negative effect on the consciousness of institutional conformity. Meanwhile, horizontal social capital generated from formal relationship has a positive effect on the consciousness of institutional conformity and post-material value. However, the horizontal social capital has a negative effect on the consciousness of law conformity and self-transcendence. It means that the affect of social capital to the collective values of a group depends on the structure of relationship among the members. Overall, this paper discusses research implications for further researchs.
