한국도서연구 학술지의 연구특성에 대한 사회네트워크분석 연구 = A Study on the Characteristics of Research in the Journal of Korean Island with Social Network Analysis

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The major aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of research based on bibliometric data and contents that including authors, key words, abstracts and titles in 356 articles from the year of 2007 to 2016 in the Journal of Korean Island, a major journal of research on Korean islands. This study used bibliometric data analysis and Social Network Analysis(SNA), methodology in contents analysis for finding the major theme or concept of the paper.
About 60% of papers had been conducted with collaboration or joint research and that ratio had significantly increased by year. Based on the results of analysis, 5 major research clusters or groups were found. Most of the groups were categorized by social science, culture sociology, phytology, geology and public health science; interrelations existed among authors in each category.
Based on the results of this study in terms of contents, the most frequently used key words were interdisciplinary and convergence concepts including tourism, health, forest, fisheries, festival, fishing village, and culture. Considering the centrality index the most dominant key words were island, tourism, environment, sea and marine. The results of analysis on abstracts in each paper show that term used more than 99 times were island, tourism, Korea, fishery, community, marine, sea, culture, resource, development, coast, industry, environment, value, health, fishing, and satisfaction. Similar results were found in the analysis of titles.
Although there were outstanding achievements of research on Korean islands, some improvement including consistency of frequently used key words and numbers of terms in each should be implemented. Further, researchers should concern themselves with the rigor of their elaborated article contents consistently in terms of sustainability.
