노동과 노르웨이를 넘어서: 미얀마 카렌족 재정착 난민의 통합과 초국적 모빌리티 = Beyond Labor and Norway: The Integration and Transnational Mobility of Karen Refugees from Myanmar

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study deals with the integration and mobility of resettled refugees by taking Karen refugees from Myanmar having moved to Norway as an example. Norway, known as a welfare state, operates resettlement programs aimed at promoting refugees’ participation in the labor market and self-reliance as a result. Since employment is a means of supporting the welfare state, various attempts are made at the national level to increase the employment rate. The state treats refugees who are self-reliant as a success, and refugees who are not as a problem. This study overcomes seeing like a state and reveals that the integration of resettled refugees is not limited to a particular country but takes place in transnational fields thanks to the recovery and strengthening of mobility. This study argues that Karen refugees in Norway and other parts of Europe have been developing another path of integration, practicing mobility, using Europe as their social space, and exploiting network capital based on reciprocity, which goes beyond the labor-centered integration that the state disciplines and manages.
